Transfer ownership
With Transfer Ownership, you hand over the entire Swiss21 account with all rights to another user. The process consists of the three steps: Discharge, New Owner, and Identity Verification.
Step-by-step process
- In the Ownership section, click Transfer Ownership. The wizard opens with step 1 "Discharge".
- Activate the discharge declaration by ticking the checkbox: you thereby confirm that you are the owner and administrator of the account and wish to transfer all rights unconditionally to a third party.
- Click Next and in the "New Owner" step, select the desired user from the list (this person must be registered as a user in the portal).
- Click Next again; in the "Identity Verification" step, click Request Code to have a verification code sent to your registered email address, then enter it in the field.
- Finally, click Transfer Ownership to complete the transfer.
Benefits
- You can transfer the account when the company changes hands without having to create a new Swiss21 account.
- All rights to applications and data then clearly belong to the new owner, which is legally helpful for accounting and billing purposes.
Notes and tips
- The discharge declaration shown in step 1 is legally binding; check before confirming whether the selected user should indeed become the owner.
- Make sure the current owner's email address is accessible, as the verification code will be sent to that address.
- After a successful transfer, only the new owner can make further changes to the ownership or initiate another transfer.
